Monkey Machine

Monkey Machine: An online drum box that accompanies you while you play your songs.

If you want a drum track in the background when you play your songs, it's easy. In two or three mouse clicks you'll be ready.

You can change the tempo, select different items that will be played and voilà! You are ready to smash youself in your musical madness. ;-)

You see, it is very useful. It also allows you to save battery loop that you have created. By clicking on "File" you can export or import your files whenever you want and not lose a rhythm that you took time to create.

In addition, this tool can serve you as a metronome in your guitar practice. Very handy if I may say! Or you can use a real metronome.

How to play a bar chord on guitar for Begginers

How to play a bar chord on guitar for Begginers "Part 1"

For begginers, play a bar chord is hard! How to make a bar chord without getting hurt ? What techniques are there to better flatten the barre chords on the neck of his guitar?
By definition, a bar chord is like other chords except that several strings are blocks with the same finger. Some chords contain double bar, a complete bar and a semi bar. And yes it hurt! Which finger to use to play your bar chord?

Index is generally used to block the strings of the guitar but sometimes other fingers are used as the ring eg (especially for semi-bar) or else, we would use the middle finger to strengthen the support and pressure of the index finger on the strings, but it is when you are a beginner ;-).

The Bar Chords on guitar

There are several bar chords and we'll see the standard positions used. This will help you in the first time to warm up the muscles and you will see after this explanation, there are a multitude of new chords that you can
play on your guitar.

So, not to get too complicated, we'll see two positions for each of the two modes, major and minor.

Then you will be able to move on each fret keeping the same finger position but changing chord, for exemple, if you move the F chords one fret higher (a semitone higher), it will give you a F# chord and that just by sliding your hand without moving your fingers.

Major barre chords positions:

Minor barre chords positions:

Try moving your hand on the neck of your guitar from one fret to another, conclusion ... from the four positions you already have, dozens of chords can be played.

Remember that the only way to be a good guitarist, is to practice a lot, usually one to two hours per day would be sufficient, but if you practice more, you will get better faster, it makes sense.

How to play a bar chord on guitar for Begginers "Part 2"

Now that you practice a little and memorised those four positions, here is a few technic on how to succed with your bar chords.

Thumb finger : it is very important to keep the thumb aligned with the index, this allows among other things to have a good grip and helps the chord stability.

Index finger: it must be as straight as possible.

What is my bar chord note?

With bar chords, it is quite simple to know what note is associated to each chord. The index position determines the note of your bar chord. For example, if you take the F chord which is represented by the following figures 133211, the first digit determines the note of the chord "1" which mean the first fret on the E string, this is the bass note of the F chord.

So if you want to know where is the G# bar chord is, start with the E chord which is the E open string (6th string) and go up, first fret is F, second fret is F# or Gb, third fret is the G, fourth fret is the G# or Ab and so on. Same thing for the A open string (5th string) first fret is A# or Bb, second fret is B, third fret is the C, and 4 = C# or Db, 5 = D.

Now, the only thing you have to do is practice the chords presented in the "How to play a bar chord on guitar for Begginers Part 1" and try to memorize the fret on the neck and that's it, in a few hours you will have dozens of barre chords that you can play.

Later, we will try to explore different aspects of the chords, either bar or not. In the meantime, keep practicing.

Have a nice day!
